                                      A Brief Profile of G.M.Momin Women’s College
The Konkan Muslim Education Society’s G.M.Momin Women’s College, Bhiwandi is a pioneering institute in the field of education established in 1989.The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai & is recognized by UGC under section  2f & 12 B college got  also ISO 9001:2000 certified from the Bureau of Indian Standards. The college today is a name to reckon with in the educational arena. It conducts courses in   Arts, Science & Commerce faculties and also  B.Sc.IT, BMS, M.A. & M.Sc. and Ph.D programmes. The College caters exclusively to Women’s Education and nurturing them for their commendable performance.
            Since its inception in 1989, the college is progressing in leaps and bounds and has 1212 students on its roll in UG & PG Courses. Today this premier institute of higher education is a landmark in Bhiwandi, It has been accredited by NAAC and now is due for   reaccreditation.  It has a good  infrastructure viz. Health Care Centre, Cyber Centre, a well equipped Fitness Centre,  a Computerized Library, Canteen,  Auditorium & Playground .

The college has the following merits :

*          The Best NSS Unit Award at the District level , University level, State level and even at the National level.
*          The Best Extension Education Unit Award twice from the University of  Mumbai.
*          The Best NSS Officer Award   to Prof Anis Choudhary the NSS Programme Officer at the National Level.
*          The Best Extension work teacher  Award to Prof Jayashree Thakre the field co-ordinator  from the University of Mumbai.
*          The Times of India’s  “Best Teacher Award” to Dr. Nazneen Rangoonwala, Head, Dept of English and PG Centre in charge
*          The Patent obtained by our faculty member Dr. Nandita Singh.
*          Our College has so far undertaken 5 Minor Research projects.
*          Students were nominated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on merit in the Students’ Council              of the  University of Mumbai, for five consecutive academic years.
*          Students twice were the General Secretary  of University Students’ Council (Ms. Neema Garyal & Ms. Aliya Baig)
*          Students have figured in  the Merit List of the University of Mumbai  4 times
*          Our students participated in the  Intercollegiate Sports Events and won the  fourth position in           
          Yoga    Competition. The  Student has won black belt in Karathe. One of our student has been    
         selected at State level in Ball Badminton  Competition.                                                                              

*          Thrice  our students received  have The Hughling Prize and the Saraswati Advani Prize for getting the highest of  marks in the three units of English Literature among all the other students from the University of Mumbai in T.Y.B.A.  Examinations.

*          In T.Y.B.Sc. a Physics student Ms. Fakih Zulfa of the college has secured 94.75% at the  T.Y.B.Sc. ( Physics ) University examinations  held in April  2010.  

*          The results of the college have been consistently good, 100% in many Departments, both at the UG & PG  levels. 

*          Students  have also bagged many prizes at the Intercollegiate Competitions and made the college proud of their achievements.

*          The students have  climbed the pyramid of success and brought fame and honour to this institute.

*          The College has a Technological Centre which conducts Diploma and Certificate Courses in Fashion Designing  and Computers.

*          The teaching and non teaching staff are sincere  and committed to work  under the able guidance and efficient leadership of     Principal ( Mrs. ) Kamala Balasubramanian.

*          The entire team of G.M.Momin Women’s College works and continue to contribute their mite  to the development of Women’s Education through this   institute of higher learning.
